Šibenska Narodna Glazba (The Community Band of Šibenik) was founded in 1848. Since that day, the band has performed more than 12500 times proudly representing Šibenik, Šibenik-Knin County and the Republic of Croatia. In its long and rich history, the band has performed on 45 international festivals of concert bands, folklore festivals and parades in 15 European countries. They competed at 12 state competitions and won one gold, three silver and two bronze awards in the Category A.

The long list of distinguished members of the audience includes eleven heads of state, two pontiffs and numerous important figures from Croatia and rest of the world. The band also participated in making of four feature movies and at big sports events, i.e. Mediterranean Games, Athletics European Championship, and World Waterpolo Championship for Juniors.

Representing Croatia, Šibenska Narodna Glazba performed at the 15th, 16th and 17th edition of World Music Contest (WMC) in the Netherlands, where they won two gold, one silver and one bronze medal in category of show bands.

In 2005, Šibenska Narodna Glazba received The Charter of the Republic of Croatia, the highest recognition, from the president of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić.

 

Today, there are 50 active band members. Music director is Damir Marušić and Jere Pancirov is the president.
